Road Trippin...

Ahhhh oh so early we were woken up at 5.50am by a wake up call to make sure we were ready to hit the open road! Ready we were so we set off down route 10 to Palm Springs. After passing the what seemed like the worlds largest wind turbine farm and playing our travel bingo we reached what seemed like a deserted Palm Springs. Turns out it is a fancy place to retire and was the winter sun hot spot for may celebs. Lovely location, surrounded by mountains, very hot! Cher's hubby Sonny was mayor before he died - Sarah thought she'd have a piece with the statue dedicated to him! And we have photographic evidence of that!

After that we were back on the road heading towards Phoenix Arizona. Miles and miles of desert we passed before stopping for lunch at a truck stop at the Arizona border. I enjoyed my Wendy's coke float immensely! We then headed towards Phoenix past the famous Arizona's Sagurai cacti - turns out they love these and are very protective over them! $10,000 fine and a year in prison if found tampering with one!

As we entered Phoenix we past the Cardinals ground and then past the awesome boulder houses in the rocks - apparently Bond was filmed there! We then arrived at Carefree Resort and oh my god this place is so nice. You feel like you are staying in the desert (we'll you kind of are) - cacti all around, a massive beautiful room with the world's most comfortable chairs, all slightly rustic and western. The pool was certainly calling - if anything to cool down as it was 106 degrees F!!! I'm melting!!! Apparently rabbits, roadrunners and javalina's (wild pig things) roam free. We chillaxed at the pool before having our western dinner where we were sung to by a cowboy - he was awesome, and said i could be a cowgirl! This was as the sun was setting, sitting outside drinking beer - definitely can't complain! The food was also fab!! So easily could stay here a while...forever!! Oh and i really want to touch a cactus - they are calling me but don't want to run the risk of being told off!!

Early start again tomorrow so better go rest in this blistering heat. The sky is so clear you can see all the stars - so nice! Oh and pleb being me tried to walk onto the balcony but walked into the door! In my defence it was extremely clean!!!
