Detox Diary Day 3

Today was started as before, lemon water and herbal tea. Then I substituted the winter savoury shake for a smoothie. And this was an amazeballs smoothie. Definitely the number 1 of all smoothies - Blueberry and Almond butter - yum.

Lunch was also very nice, roasted veg - parsnips, carrots and beets with a miso balsamic dressing - again very edible. The food in this detox is very nice (obviously excluding the chickpea soup) and makes doing it easier. I don't know how much good it has done me but it can't have hurt.

Final meal is Chinese poached chicken and broccoli, again nice - in future probably with a little rice but the detox was no carbs. The not having coffee was surprisingly easier than I thought. I do think though I'll have a burger tomorrow!

Detox Diary Day 2

OK, first day of the holidays lets see how today goes. Same start as yesterday then the chai tea gingerbread shake. That was actually very nice and refreshing.

Lunch was a roasted and clean carrot soup which was nice, much better than the chickpea soup.

Now today's snack was interesting, a walnut and lentil pate, again it was perfectly edible.

Tea was yummy salmon poached in coconut milk with greens. Will definitely have this again but with the addition of some rice I think.

So far so good, though it's hard not snacking when feeling a little peckish and also when Daniel comes home with a pizza! Self control much needed!

Also I have been looking up dishes to try in Thailand. According to BBC Good Food the top 10 dishes are:

1. Phat Thai
2. Tom Yam
3. Laap
4. Khao Soi
5. Som Tam
6. Phat Kaphrao
7. Green Curry
8. Yam
9. Kai Yang
10. Khao Phat

Will have to see how many we try when out there!

Detox Diary Day 1

Probably not a great idea to start this on the last day of term but I want to do the Goop 3 day detox prior to holiday and don't want to do it on a weekend so here goes!

Morning was OK - lemony water then herbal tea was completely doable. As it's a winter detox I have tweaked the morning warm shakes for smoothies so so far so good. The amount of chocolate in our department was ridiculous but I didn't touch one bit!

Lunch of the chickpea soup was probably the hardest bit so far but as I was so hungry as I had to go to the garage on the way home as had a puncture it turned out fine - glad it was out of the way though.

Tea was actually yummy - roasted squash, green, quinoa and also really filling. My portion was probably slightly bigger than Gwyneth's but it's all good for you food!

Happy days - day 1 nailed!
