Celeb treatment in Phuket!

Woke up a little late as the alarm didn't go off - my bad - but still sorted and breakfast had ready to go to Phuket. I had another weird fruit today - will find out what it is - red and hairy! Yesterday's was like a Pikmin berry! Our taxi took 3 hours to get to Phuket but it turns out you can't actually fly from Krabi so it is the only way by land.

Wow, what a service we got when we arrived at our villa, a coconut on arrival, a lift to our spa villa which is amazing. We can lie in bed and look out to the ocean - it is truly magical, very much the celeb life. I wonder where the Kardashians stayed when they were in Phuket? We can see the Big Buddha from here too.

I am writing this as the sun sets over the Andaman Sea listening to the waves crash against the rocks below. You are definately forced to relax here! They rung us to check we were ok and gave us a platter of fruit! But the bell boy did accidently lock is in the villa! There was also a lizard in our room on arrival, we have a holiday pet! Oh Daniel was poorly (hung over) for an hour this morning but he fought through the pain! Drama Queen!!

Holiday!!

Woohoo! The time has come for holiday! We deserve it this year. Today we are just travelling down to Heathrow we don't fly out til tomorrow but still we are very excited. To be honest it was smooth sailing all the way. The strike on the railway didn't affect us, neither did the closure of the tube stations or roads to Heathrow due to insane rain and flooding. So happy days. Mentioning insaneness there is always one and this time it was a crazy on the tube whistling Monty Python and playing the harmonica. To sort of quote Justin Timberlake he was trying to 'bring crazy back' by trying to get others to join in but being London they did a good job of ignoring him!

Currently we are at our regular Heathrow hotel - Park Inn, better room than before though. We're trying out a different one on the way back so it may not be our regular for much longer.

Tomorrow - we fly!!

Time to move on

Our time in LA-la Land has come to an end - we didn't see many celebs but we definitely saw allot of plastic La-La's!

It makes a change not going to the airport but this time going to the train station. We are Amtraking our way to San Diego. Union Station is nice - old fashioned with massive wooden and leather chairs to wait on - no wonder there are a few homeless in here. What is odd is how quiet it is - at this time of day, 11.30ish at St Pancras the station would be rammed. I guess in a city that has more cars than people who uses the train!

It was simples! Collected our tickets, got a subway then boarded the double decker train. Smooth riding all the way to San Diego. We didn't see much from the train, residential then countryside mainly. We did see Anaheim though no sign of Disneyland. We exited at Santa Fe aka San Diego. Where the station was was so close to our hotel really we walked through the Gaslamp Quarter to F Street to our hotel - Andaz. Doesn't look like much from the outside but it appears in our guide book twice for best club with a view and pool. We were greeted with complimentary drinks and went to our room where we found no end of complimentary items, chips, cereal bar, weird banana chocolate thing and a whole list of items we could ask for if we'd forgotten or run out of. We could get used to this! Not the biggest room but a room for trendy guests. Glass wall separating the sink area to the bedroom.

We know we have a busy time here in San Diego what with Sea World, the zoo and Mexico for tonight we went to a sushi place - Hive. It was great, the sushi was yum and to top it off some dishes were on happy hour!
